Northern area

Northern region is the entrance door to São Paulo to most visitors coming by bus. That is where the crowd Tietê Bus Station is located, with buses running to and from more than 600 locations in Brazil and four countries: Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile and Argentina. Arquivo do Estado (State Archives) is located right beside the bus station; considered a heaven for those who appreciate History, you can search old and new newspapers and magazines for free. However, the greatest attraction here is files of people investigated during military period, available on microfilm. If you want to relax, go to Largo da Freguesia do Ó. A church in the middle gives an atmosphere of a small village in the middle of the big city. Traditional feast of Divino (May) is held here. If you prefer pagan feasts, you will have excellent options here. Courts of the following samba schools are here: Império da Casa Verde, Mocidade, Rosas de Ouro, Unidos do Peruche etc. It is also a very green area. Horto Florestal and Serra da Cantareira Park are some examples. One of the most interesting parks in the capital, Cantareira Park has ecological tracks and cascades.
